James Hubert Price (September 7, 1878 – November 22, 1943) was an American politician. Price was a Richmond, Virginia attorney and businessman. In the 1937 general election, he defeated Republican candidate John Powell Royall, a former State Senator. He served as the 53rd Governor of Virginia from 1938 to 1942 having already served as the 23rd Lieutenant Governor.
As governor, he implemented the Social Security Act, solicited federal funds for urban development, and advocated the inclusion of African Americans in the U.S. military. He was considered Virginia's "New Deal" governor.
